Eddie Redmayne on possible "Fantastic Beasts" spinoff series: "Never say never"

"I always wanted to see Newt out in the wild more," Eddie Redmayne tells MovieZine about the possibility of a "Fantastic Beasts" spinoff series.
Jude Law recently told Variety that we shouldn't expect another "Fantastic Beasts" movie anytime soon. If ever. Since Warner seems to be focusing on the "Harry Potter" tv show adaption instead.

But could there be room for a "Fantastic Beasts" tv show too? MovieZine had an opportunity to speak with fellow "Fantastic Beasts" actor Eddie Redmayne, prior to his new show "The Day of the Jackal" being released in Sweden. During which the possibility of a spinoff series to the Fantastic Beasts franchise was suggested.

After all, Redmayne has now done his first tv show as an executive producer and might be able to take matter into his own hands. HBO/Max will probably have at least two years between new seasons when that show finally arrives, so wouldn't a Newt Scamander spinoff show be the perfect companion piece to have on the off years?

- I mean, you know. I do love the character, Redmayne explains. I adored playing him, because he had a good heart and I found him eccentric and unique, honestly. And kind of glorious.

- I would love to have seen... I always wanted to see Newt out in the wild more. Like out where he is with the creatures, when he was writing the book and he was out in these extraordinary landscapes. Taming these brilliant [beasts], and like to see his physical adeptness. But, you now. Never say never.

Första avsnittet av "Schakalen" släpps på SkyShowtime den 6 december. Då släpper vi hela intervjun med Eddie och Úrsula även på svenska.
