Årets upplaga av Golden Globe var speciell på flera sätt. Det är den första som efter skandaler och kontroverser inte arrangeras av grundarna HFPA (Hollywood Foreing Press Association), och två helt nya kategorier i form av bästa cinematiska blockbuster (första pristagare blev "Barbie") och bästa stand-up på tv (Ricky Geravais med "Armageddon")
Inte för att Golden Globe 2024 var fri från kontrovers. Komikern Jo Koy, som var årets värd, levererade enligt The Wrap vad som kan ha varit en av de sämsta monologerna i galans historia. Och bad publiken hålla käft.
Årets stora vinnare på filmsidan var "Oppenheimer, som plockade hem fem av sina åtta nomineringar, inklusive bästa dramafilm och bästa regi. På tv-seriesidan gick det bäst för "Succession". Succéserien hade sin sista chans till Golden Globe i år och lyckades ta fyra av nio nomineringar, närmare bestämt tre skådespelarpriser och så årets bästa dramaserie på det.
Sverigekopplingar: Det här är det första Golden Globe-priset som tidigare Oscarsvinnaren (för "Black Panther") Ludwig Göransson får sig tilldelat, för musiken i "Oppenheimer".
Det andra Sverige-hoppet i årets gala, Alexander Skarsgård som nominerades för sin biroll i "Succession, fick tyvärr se sig slagen av (den väldigt värdiga vinnaren) seriekollegan Matthew Macfadyen.
